Awkwafina
Awkwafina is an American actor and performer who started her career through smart raps that addressed sexuality and racial identities with the most comical of perspectives. Then she branched out to Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants, was her first music experience. She performed on the trumpet. She also received the classical and jazz education later when she began to explore hip-hop as a teenager. While at school, she majored in journalism, and women's studies, and was studying Mandarin in Beijing for a time. She didn't start focusing on music until she finished her studies. Her song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity through the Internet in the year 2012. It eventually made it in her debut album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. It also included other popular hits, including the body positive Queef and winking hometown tour NYC Bitche$. The track that was the last one to be connected directly to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was published in 2015. The resume of her included author and musician. Now she was looking for a new career path in acting. In addition to early television programs like Girl Code and Tawk, she has also been featured in films like Neighbors2Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018, she scored major roles in a variety of high-profile films like Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released by In Fina We Trust in June of the year.
